Best AI SDR Tools 2026: Pricing & Performance

Written by GenFlows Team | Jul 13, 2026 3:38:11 PM
TL;DR
  • The AI SDR category consolidated hard in 2025–26: Qualified was absorbed into Salesforce (deal closed April 2026), 11x imploded reputationally after fake-logo and ARR-inflation reporting, and 40–60% of pilots still get paused within 90 days. The tools below are the ones surviving renewal cycles.
  • Sticker price is fiction. Entry points run $250/mo (AiSDR) to quote-only (Artisan, ~$18K–86K/yr third-party estimates), but true Year-1 cost lands at $31K–$147K once email infrastructure, enrichment data, setup, and ongoing optimization are counted.
  • The economics that matter: AI SDRs book meetings at ~$50–200 each versus ~$820–1,150 for an in-house human — but AI meetings show up less (40–70% vs 75–85%) and convert to opportunities at half the rate. In the best available head-to-head data, hybrid (human + AI) generated ~2.3× more revenue than AI-only despite 63% fewer meetings.
  • Buy by deal size: sub-$10K ACV → lean autonomous agent; $10–50K → hybrid pod with approval gates; $50K+ → human-led with AI research copilots. And ask every vendor one question: what revenue survives your 3-month break clauses?

We published The Death of the SDR? as the strategy piece — whether the role survives, and what the 2026 data actually says. This is the companion buyer's guide: which AI SDR tools exist as of mid-2026, what they really cost, and how to avoid buying the category's failure modes. Everything below was re-verified in July 2026; where a widely-circulated stat has no traceable primary source, we say so rather than launder it.

First, Know What You're Buying: Three Different Product Genera

Most "best AI SDR" lists flatten three different things into one category — which is exactly how buyers mis-buy:

  • Digital-worker agents (Artisan's Ava, AiSDR, 11x's Alice, Lyzr's Jazon, Alta's Katie): autonomous personas that research, write, send, handle replies, and book meetings.
  • Rep-augmentation platforms (Regie.ai, Amplemarket Duo, Reply.io's Jason AI): AI agents working alongside a human team of 5–10+ reps, built to multiply reps, not replace them.
  • Signal & orchestration infrastructure (Clay, Unify, Common Room): they find, enrich, and route prospects — Clay famously sends nothing — and feed whatever executes the touch. Clay hit $100M ARR in December 2025 and a $5B valuation in January 2026 precisely because it powers everyone else's outbound; see our advanced Clay workflows for what that layer does.

If your CRM is Salesforce, there's a fourth option that skips procurement entirely: Agentforce SDR, native in your existing stack — with a pricing trap we cover below.

The Vendors Worth Knowing

AiSDR — the transparent-pricing benchmark

The only major digital-worker vendor with fully published pricing: Solo at $250/mo month-to-month (200 AI-researched contacts, 1 domain, 3 mailboxes, 1 LinkedIn seat), Explore at $900/mo (800 contacts, 6 mailboxes, 5 LinkedIn seats), Scale at $2,500/mo, with 20% off annual and a fully-managed option at +$2,500/mo. Warmup and sending infrastructure are included, which removes one of the hidden-cost lines below. Because there's no annual lock-in at entry, it's the cheapest honest way to run a real 90-day pilot.

Artisan (Ava) — the full-loop digital worker

Artisan raised a $25M Series A in April 2025 (Glade Brook, HubSpot Ventures, Sequoia Scout) on ~$5M ARR and ~250 customers, and claims Ava handles ~80% of the outbound BDR process: 250M+ contact database, research, copy, email + LinkedIn sending, autonomous replies, booking. Human-in-the-loop controls are genuinely good — approve-before-send, tone locks, banned phrases, escalation rules. The catch: pricing went fully quote-only (third-party estimates $2,400–$7,200/mo), and annual contracts are standard. If you engage, negotiate a break clause — more on why below.

Regie.ai — augmentation for enterprise teams

Regie raised a $30M Series B in February 2025 claiming 300% YoY growth, and is deliberately positioned as rep-multiplication, not replacement: its Auto-Pilot agents prospect and send across email/LinkedIn/phone for teams of 10+ humans. Floor math matters: the AI SEP plan is $180/user/mo with a 10-seat minimum ($21,600/yr floor); Force Multiplier is $499/user/mo, 5-seat minimum (~$30K/yr), and data packages run $750–$8,140/mo on top. This is enterprise procurement territory.

Salesforce Agentforce SDR — and its pricing-model trap

For existing Salesforce customers, Agentforce SDR has near-zero switching cost — and one expensive decision at signing. There are two consumption models: $2 per conversation flat, or Flex Credits at $0.10 per standard action. An SDR agent sequence (research, personalize, log, follow up) runs ~35+ actions, so the credit model works out to ~$3.50+ per conversation — 75% more than the flat rate for the same work. Salesforce consultants report typical real-world spend of $35K–65K+/yr either way. If you're evaluating it, model your action counts before choosing; unwinding the wrong model mid-contract is painful. (Qualified's Piper — the inbound AI SDR — is now part of this stack too, following the April 2026 acquisition close.)

Unify and Common Room — the "warm outbound" school

Both sell the thesis that the fix for outbound isn't more volume, it's better triggers — the same thesis behind our signal-based prospecting playbook. Unify ($1,740/mo annual, 8 managed mailboxes, credit-priced signals; backed by Emergence and the OpenAI Startup Fund, with Perplexity and Cursor as customers) turns intent signals into automated plays with managed sending. Common Room ($2,100/mo entry, realistically $30–40K/yr after add-ons) leans on community and product signals, with its RoomieAI agents doing research and drafting. Neither is a "digital worker" — they're the intelligence layer, and they pair well with human senders or a sequencer.

The rest of the field

Reply.io's Jason AI ($500–1,000/mo, infra included) and Salesforge's Agent Frank ($499/mo + ~$200/mo infra) are the value tier. Lyzr's Jazon (free tier, credit-based) is the cheapest way to experiment — and Lyzr itself is reportedly raising a ~$100M Series B at a ~$500M valuation in July 2026, famously using its own agent to run the raise. Alta (Katie) raised $25M and reports ~$15M ARR (vendor-adjacent figure). HubSpot's Breeze prospecting agent is included in Sales Hub Pro/Enterprise at no add-on cost — check what you already own before buying anything.

What It Actually Costs: The Year-1 Math

Sticker price is the start, not the total. A realistic Year-1 budget adds four lines most listicles omit:

Cost lineTypical range
Platform subscription$3,000–$86,000/yr
Email infrastructure (domains, mailboxes, warmup)$2,000–$5,000/yr
Enrichment & data (Clay credits, verification)$3,000–$12,000/yr
Setup & onboarding$2,000–$10,000 one-time
Ongoing optimization (someone has to own it)$6,000–$24,000/yr
True Year-1 total$31,000–$147,000

Compare against a fully-loaded in-house human SDR at roughly $100K–$168K/yr (salary, commission, benefits, tooling, management). On cost per booked meeting, AI wins by a mile: ~$50–200 versus ~$820–1,150 in-house. But the gap narrows sharply on cost per held, converting meeting — AI show rates run 40–70% versus 75–85% for humans, and AI-booked meetings convert to opportunities at roughly half the human rate (10–20% vs 25–40%). Cheap meetings that don't show and don't convert are the category's core vanity metric.

What the Performance Data Really Says

  • Replies: across the largest paired comparison circulating (100,000 emails), AI-generated copy replied at 4.1% vs 5.2% for human-written — a gap that narrowed from 2.0 points in 2024 to 1.1. (We note: this study is widely cited but the primary source is never named — treat as directional. Category-wide, cold email replies average just 2–5% in 2026; see our benchmarks.)
  • Revenue, not meetings: the strongest configuration data shows AI-only booking 847 meetings at 11% meeting→opportunity conversion versus a hybrid pod's 312 meetings at 38% — the hybrid generated ~2.3× more revenue on 63% fewer meetings.
  • Survival rates: 40–60% of AI SDR pilots are paused or shut down within 90 days; 50–70% of deployments churn within 12 months — roughly double human SDR turnover. Only about a fifth of teams report fully replacing SDRs; most run hybrid.
  • Deliverability is the silent killer: one analysis pegs the median sender-reputation drop at 38 points within 90 days of scaling agentic volume. Cap agents at ~25 emails per mailbox per day and give them real infrastructure — the same rules as human senders, covered in our infrastructure guide and compliance guide.
  • The cautionary tales: 11x — still operating under new leadership — became the category's cautionary tale after reporting revealed unauthorized customer logos, ~70–80% churn, and ARR counted from contracts that had already terminated; ZoomInfo said Alice "performed significantly worse than our SDR employees." And Ramp killed its celebrated in-house AI SDR program in late 2025 — a system that had driven ~30% of pipeline — because enterprise buyers need orchestration and multi-threading, not volume. Full analysis of both in our SDR data piece.

How to Buy Without Getting Burned

Match autonomy to deal size:

  • Sub-$10K ACV, high-volume motion → lean autonomous agent (AiSDR, Reply.io) with tight ICP guardrails.
  • $10–50K ACV → hybrid pod: roughly one human owning 2 AI seats, human approval gates for the first 30 days, measured on revenue-per-meeting and AE win rate — never on meetings booked.
  • $50K+ ACV / enterprise → human-led with AI as research copilot (Regie, or Clay + signals feeding your reps). This is the segment where Ramp's lesson applies.
  • Messy CRM, undefined ICP → fix that first. Practitioner consensus is that 80–90% of AI SDR outcomes are determined by data plumbing, routing, and guardrails — not prompts. Start with our ICP framework.

Red flags, in order of expense: vanity activity metrics with no show-rate or opportunity data; quote-only pricing plus annual lock-in with no pilot exit; volume-first sending with no per-mailbox caps; logo walls you can't verify. And the single best due-diligence question in the category: "What does your post-trial recurring revenue look like after 3-month break clauses — and can I speak to three customers who renewed?" Vendors with good answers volunteer them.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an AI SDR?

Software that automates some or all of a sales development rep's outbound loop — building lists, researching prospects, writing and sending personalized email/LinkedIn touches, handling replies, and booking meetings. Tools range from fully autonomous "digital workers" (Artisan, AiSDR) to rep-augmentation platforms (Regie.ai) to signal infrastructure that feeds either (Clay, Unify, Common Room).

Can an AI SDR fully replace a human SDR in 2026?

For low-ACV, high-volume motions — sometimes. For mid-market and enterprise — the data says no: AI-booked meetings show and convert at roughly half human rates, hybrid configurations out-earn AI-only by ~2.3× in the best available comparison, and only a minority of teams that tried full replacement stuck with it. The winning pattern in 2026 is one human operator running multiple AI seats.

How much does an AI SDR cost compared to hiring?

Platforms run $250/mo to $86K+/yr, but true Year-1 cost including infrastructure, data, setup, and optimization is $31K–$147K — against $100K–$168K fully loaded for one in-house human SDR. Cost per booked meeting strongly favors AI ($50–200 vs $820–1,150); cost per converted opportunity is much closer once show rates and conversion are counted.

Do AI SDRs hurt email deliverability?

They can, badly — agentic volume without infrastructure discipline is how domains die (one analysis found a median 38-point sender-reputation drop within 90 days). Keep agents to ~25 emails per mailbox per day, use aged domains with proper DNS, and monitor complaint rates exactly as you would for human senders. Our deliverability guide applies unchanged.

Which AI SDR tool should I try first?

If you're testing the category: AiSDR Solo ($250/mo, month-to-month, infra included) is the lowest-risk honest pilot. If you live in Salesforce: trial Agentforce on the $2/conversation model. If your deals are $50K+: skip digital workers and build the signal + research layer instead — Clay-based systems like the ones in our AI agents guide deliver the AI leverage without handing your brand to an autonomous sender.

Want AI leverage in your outbound without the churn statistics? GenFlows builds hybrid outbound systems — signal engines, AI research and personalization, human-quality sending — measured on opportunities, not activity. See what we build or talk to our team.
