# [Close CRM vs Attio for Outbound Sales Teams (2026)](https://www.genflows.com/blog/close-crm-vs-attio-outbound-sales-teams-2026)

TL;DR

- **Calls and SMS: Close.** It has a built-in power dialer on Growth and native SMS on every tier. Attio has no native dialer.
- **Data model: Attio.** Custom objects and relationships are its core strength.
- **Price:** Attio starts free for up to 3 seats. Close’s outbound-ready Growth tier lists $99 to $109 per user, plus usage-based calling.
- **Automation:** Attio workflows are flexible but draw on shared credits. Close workflows start on Growth.
- **Verify the gaps:** Close sequence mechanics and native cold email tool integrations were not confirmed for either CRM.

Close and Attio both appeal to small teams that find Salesforce too heavy, but they come from opposite directions. Close was built for sales teams that live on the phone and in the inbox. Attio was built as a flexible, data-first CRM you shape around your own objects. For outbound teams, that difference decides most of the comparison.

We have already compared Close with [HubSpot](https://www.genflows.com/blog/close-crm-vs-hubspot-outbound-sales-teams-2026), [Pipedrive](https://www.genflows.com/blog/close-crm-vs-pipedrive-outbound-sales-teams-2026) and [Salesforce](https://www.genflows.com/blog/close-crm-vs-salesforce-outbound-sales-teams-2026), and Attio appears in our [best CRM for B2B outbound](https://www.genflows.com/blog/best-crm-b2b-outbound-hubspot-salesforce-pipedrive-attio-2026) roundup. This post is the direct Close versus Attio comparison.

*Sourcing note: details come from Close’s and Attio’s own pricing and product pages, read in October 2026. Close’s pricing page shows two prices per tier without labeling monthly versus annual, so we show ranges. Close’s own comparison blog is vendor-biased and marked (directional). ## The Short Answer

Choose Close if your reps call prospects, send SMS and work email sequences from one record. Choose Attio if your sales process depends on custom objects, relationships between accounts and people, or AI agents on top of a flexible data model. If your team is one to three people, Attio’s free tier makes it easy to test.

## Side-by-Side Comparison

| Feature | Close | Attio |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Entry tier** | Solo, $9 to $19 per user per month (1 user, 10k leads) | Free, up to 3 seats |
| **Mid tier** | Essentials, $35 to $49 | Plus, $35 annual or $44 monthly |
| **Outbound-ready tier** | Growth, $99 to $109 (power dialer, workflows) | Pro, $79 annual or $99 monthly |
| **Top tier** | Scale, $139 to $149 | Enterprise, custom |
| **Built-in dialer** | Power dialer on Growth, predictive on Scale | No native dialer; calling apps such as Aircall *(directional)* |
| **Native SMS** | Yes, all tiers | No *(directional)* |
| **Email sequences** | Yes; mechanics not verified | Yes, listed on Pro and above (partly verified) |
| **Workflows** | Growth and Scale | Triggers, branches, loops; run on shared credits |
| **Data model** | Standard objects, 250 custom fields, custom activities | Custom objects and relationships (3 to unlimited by tier) |
| **AI** | Chloe agent; 500 to 2,000 credits per user | Prebuilt and custom agents; credits per seat plus workspace add-ons |
| **API / integrations** | REST API, webhooks, MCP, Zapier, Clay, HubSpot | Developer platform, SDK, MCP, Zapier |
| **Best fit** | Phone-heavy small and mid-size teams | Teams with complex data on a modern stack |

## Pricing

Close lists four tiers: Solo, Essentials, Growth and Scale, priced per user per month at $9 to $19, $35 to $49, $99 to $109 and $139 to $149. The pricing page shows two numbers for each tier without labeling which is monthly and which is annual, and the lower figure is probably the annual price. Solo is capped at one user and 10k leads. Calling and SMS are usage-based, with outbound calls at about $0.02 per minute and numbers from about $1 per month.

Attio lists Free (up to 3 seats), Plus at $44 monthly or $35 annual, Pro at $99 monthly or $79 annual, and custom Enterprise. Plus caps you at 10 seats, 5 custom objects and 15 reports; Pro lifts seats to unlimited and objects to 12. Attio also sells workspace credits as add-ons, from $85 a month for 5,000 extra credits, and AI features and workflows share them.

**Compare like for like.** Close’s sticker price includes outbound features at Growth but adds call usage. Attio’s headline price is lower, but a team that needs a dialer must add a third-party calling app, and heavy automation can add credit costs. Total cost per rep matters more than plan price. Our [Close CRM pricing guide](https://www.genflows.com/blog/close-crm-pricing-2026) goes deeper on the Close side.

## Calling, SMS and Email

This is where the two diverge most. Close has a power dialer on Growth and a predictive dialer plus live call coaching on Scale, with native SMS on every tier and call recordings stored for 30 days to unlimited depending on tier. Attio has no native dialer or SMS *(directional)*; its Call Intelligence records and analyzes calls and meetings, and its help content lists Aircall and RingCentral as calling apps *(directional)*.

For email, Close allows 3 connected accounts on Solo and Essentials and 10 on Growth and Scale. Attio lists sequences on Pro and above, with an Outbound Agent that drafts and sends sequences; its email limits run from 200 a month on Free to unlimited on Pro. We could not read Close’s sequence feature page, so we cannot compare step types or limits. For the Close side, see [Close workflows and sequences](https://www.genflows.com/blog/close-crm-workflows-sequences-outbound-2026).

## Data Model and Workflows

Attio’s main selling point is custom objects and relationships, so you can model accounts, people, deals and anything else such as partners or products. Close uses standard objects with 250 custom fields on every tier and custom activities on Growth and Scale. If your outbound motion is a simple lead, contact, opportunity flow, Close’s structure is enough. If you sell to buying committees or need relationship graphs, Attio is stronger, and our [CRM data hygiene guide](https://www.genflows.com/blog/crm-data-hygiene-outbound-teams-2026) explains why a clean model matters either way.

Both have workflow automation. Attio’s runs on record changes, schedules and webhooks, with branches, loops and custom code, and each run is traceable. Close’s workflows are available on Growth and Scale and can send SMS. We could not verify which Attio tier unlocks workflows.

## AI Features

Close includes AI credits per user (500 on Solo up to 2,000 on Scale) and an agent called Chloe that summarizes calls, drafts follow-ups, updates deal stages and books meetings. Attio offers prebuilt agents for scoring, routing, enrichment, follow-up, pipeline review and outbound, plus custom agents and Ask Attio. Treat both feature lists as vendor descriptions and test them on your own data before relying on them.

## Integrations and Your Outbound Stack

Close has a REST API, webhooks and an MCP server on all tiers, and lists Zapier, HubSpot, Clay, Gmail and Calendly on its site. Attio has a developer platform with an SDK, an MCP server and a Zapier app. We found no confirmed native Instantly or Smartlead integration for either CRM, so plan on Zapier, webhooks or the API. For Close, read [our cold email integration guide](https://www.genflows.com/blog/close-crm-cold-email-integration-2026) and [pushing Clay leads into Close](https://www.genflows.com/blog/clay-close-crm-integration-push-leads-2026). ## Which Should You Choose?

| If you... | Lean toward |
| --- | --- |
| **Make a lot of outbound calls** | Close, because the dialer and SMS are built in |
| **Need to model accounts, relationships and custom objects** | Attio |
| **Have 1 to 3 people and want to start free** | Attio Free |
| **Want to run email, SMS and calls from one record** | Close |
| **Want AI agents that score, route and enrich records** | Attio, or compare against Close’s Chloe |
| **Run cold email from Instantly or Smartlead** | Either, through Zapier, webhooks or the API; test first |

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Which is cheaper for a five-rep outbound team?

Attio Plus lists $35 per user on annual billing, but Plus has no dialer. Close Growth lists $99 to $109 per user and includes the power dialer and workflows. Close also charges for calls at about $0.02 per minute, so model your calling volume. The cheaper tool depends on whether phone is part of your motion.

### Does Attio have a built-in dialer?

No. Attio relies on third-party calling apps such as Aircall or RingCentral *(directional)*. Its own Call Intelligence records and analyzes calls and meetings. If calling is core to your outbound, [Close’s power dialer](https://www.genflows.com/blog/close-crm-power-dialer-outbound-calling-2026) is the more direct fit.

### Which has better automation?

Attio workflows offer record, schedule and webhook triggers with branches, loops and custom code, but they draw on shared workspace credits. Close workflows start on the Growth tier and can include SMS. See our guide to [Close workflows and sequences](https://www.genflows.com/blog/close-crm-workflows-sequences-outbound-2026).

### Can I use Instantly or Smartlead with either CRM?

We could not confirm a native Instantly or Smartlead integration for either tool. Both can likely connect through Zapier, webhooks or the API, so test before you commit. Our [Close cold email integration guide](https://www.genflows.com/blog/close-crm-cold-email-integration-2026) covers the Close side.

### Which handles complex data better?

Attio, which is built around custom objects and relationships. Close offers 250 custom fields on every tier and custom activities on Growth and Scale. Whether Close supports true custom objects is not clear from its pricing page, so check with Close if you need them.

### Which is easier to set up?

Close says setup takes minutes, and reviewers describe it as simpler for calling and email teams *(directional)*. Attio is flexible but reviewers say it can be more than a simple pipeline needs *(directional)*. Both claims are vendor or reviewer opinion, so run a trial with your real data.
